We transformed our office into a high-key studio where Shakem could showcase different editorial looks to supplement his portfolio for his upcoming modeling career in New York. Outfit Inspiration Of The Month

Simple, yet making a bold statement, this couple on honeymoon at Amanyara Resort opted for white outfits to look beautiful and elegant against the ocean blues. The choice of dress is gorgeous here because it can flow and create movement in the pictures whilst being more form fitting at the top to give great shape and show her figure. The man choosing to wear a hat adds character and a uniqueness to their photo session. We love a prop! As the sun went down, there was a quick dress change into a bright red and orange gown which really popped against the sunset and the lighting.

Pine Cays and Islands

The Turks and Caicos Islands is world renowned for its warm water and white beaches. The shore line of its islands is made of a soft limestone which when pulverized creates the soft, off-white sand. This light sand in turn helps create the surrounding turquoise colored waters by reflecting the combination of the blue and green wave lengths in the shallow water column. This optical effect can only occur under conditions where there is a shallow body of clear water with a light base. The Bahamian archipelago, of which the TCI is a part, has the world’s greatest amount of turquoise waters. And in particular, the Turks and Caicos has the largest concentration of these waters for a developed country. However, because the shore line is very soft, it is easily altered by natural forces like a hurricane or by human development and encroachment. This fine art image of the month is an example of what happened when development on Parrot Cay altered the flow of sand of its neighbor Pine Cay. Sand collected just off the shore creating a tear drop islet which is prominently exposed at low tide.

What's Happening In Turks and Caicos?

It's Lobster Season!

August 1 marks the official start of lobster season, which runs until March 31. It's a time to enjoy the delicious spiny lobster found on almost every restaurant menu. Lobster is a major industry in Turks and Caicos, especially in South Caicos, the fishing capital. Be sure to support the local economy by indulging in some lobster during your visit!

Where Is This Photo From?

Turks and Caicos is known for its mesmerizing shades of blue from bright turquoises, deep blues to shimmering pastels. The range of colors vary in each location depending on the time of day, the lighting and the depth of the water. This scene looks out at a large lagoon located in the south of Providenciales called Chalk Sound. The water is very shallow with a white sandy bottom, providing the chalky color the name implies. Overlooking Chalk Sound are some beautiful villas providing stunning views all day long, with popular activities being kayaking and stand-up-paddleboarding.
