What's Happening in Turks and Caicos?

Turks and Caicos wins again!

Claiming the title of Caribbean's Leading Beach Destination 2025 for fourteen years in a row, and Caribbean's Most Romantic Destination 2025 for seven years in a row, these little islands must be doing something right!! Conde Nast's World Travel Awards is the most prestigious and sought after awards program in the global travel industry. So if you're looking for beautiful beaches and a couple's getaway... you know where to come ;-)

What have we been up to?

A big thank you to my wonderful photo assistants from the Clement Howell Media Club and their instructor Miss Shaw for helping photograph the hugely successful In The Pink annual breast cancer fundraiser, which raised $80,000 for the Turks and Caicos Cancer Society. They helped capture the winning photo for the covers of both newspapers. We had a lot of fun taking selfies like this one with Miss International Turks and Caicos. I hope they learned a lot and look forward to the next big event we can photograph!

Outfit Inspiration of The Month

This family chose a blue theme for their outfits and is a great example of how each individual can wear their favorite color tone without having to match everyone else. The various shades of blue worked well together to showcase a beautifully coordinated look.

Where Is This Photo From?

Pidgeon Pond, Providenciales

The Turks and Caicos is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, the Caicos Bank, and countless inlets, swamps and low lying salt ponds. The ponds that are always filled with some level of water are perfect environments for the type of algae that thrives in this briny environment. The color of the algae ranges from bright pink, yellow, dark brown-red and even green. It is this same algae that imparts the bright color to the flamingo’s pink plumage. When seen from the air these colored waters that surround our islands create a beautiful abstract patchwork of green, blues, yellows and reds. This month’s fine art image was captured over Pidgeon Pond which is located on the western end of Providenciales.
