The Turks and Caicos has everything a landscape aficionada would want from a tropical location. The waters surrounding the islands take on every shade of green and blue imaginable. A normal day might include almost every type of cloud in the sky- puffy, low lying cumulus; dense,
towering, vertical cumulonimbus and high altitude, whispery, ice crystal cirrus. Because the islands are so flat (the highest point in the entire country is only 150 ft), the sweeping panoramic views are impressive. These atmospheric conditions make for amazing sunrises and sunset, but also the unexpected monthly moon rises over the Caicos Bank. This photo was taken on Long Bay on Providenciales just minutes after the monthly moon rise. The windy conditions coupled with a
long minute-plus exposure helped to create the eerie cloud trail in the sky and the misty effect of the waters over the Caicos Bank.
